More .... More .... More ....

Jim and his family moved to Leicestershire from Ireland when he was a young boy. He won his first national title at 16 - winning the England schoolboys title and setting a national record in the 400 metres hurdles.  When he was 18 he made the choice to represent Ireland, and from that time on has represented them in World and European championships.

Currently he holds eleven Irish National Masters Records the most by any athlete, and still holds one of the fastest times ever as a 400 metre hurdler for his country. The records Jim holds are in the 60 metres hurdles(M40), 60 metres hurdles, indoor and outdoor Pentathlon, 110 metres hurdles(all in the M45 age group), as well as the indoor and outdoor Pentathlon, Pole Vault, Heavyweight Hammer and Heavy Throws Triathlon (M50 age group). Jim has now moved up to the M55 age group and in his first competition secured a silver medal at the European Hammer Decathlon whilst setting a new national record of 3335 points, this was then further improved to 3602 points when winning the silver medal at the World Hammer Decathlon in 2018.  Furthermore, he has played basketball for the Midlands, and in the national league for Leicester,Loughborough All-Stars, and represented Leicestershire at volleyball, rugby and swimming.
